Weekend in the North 2014

This May we spent another week at our friends close to Norddeich. This time we had not a lot of wind and it was just perfect. We arrived in the evening on Friday.

On Saturday we thought of visiting the island Langeoog. And we were not the only ones. ;) The ferry to the island was very full and we didn't get a seat. Langeoog is a small island in the Wadden Sea. On the island there are no cars allowed (only used by a doctor and fire brigade). When we arrived to the island, there was a little train which took us to the little town. From there it wasn't very far to get to the beach. It was so lovely and relaxing to sit in the sand and enjoying weather. The water wasn't very cold (sadly we only could go into the water with the feet as we had no bathing suits with us).
We also tried to look for two caches on the island, but we only found one. ;)

Some of our time on Langeoog we spent in the little town, eating icecream and drinking a beer. ;) It was such a perfect day.

The other day our friends first took us to the windmills of Greetsiel. As they also started geocaching we also looked for some caches there. We ate some delicious fish sandwiches and I was able to make a photo of the windmills. Sadly one of them got destroyed last year during a heavy storm.

After those windmills we visited the lighthouse in Pilsum. It is famous since it was the home of a comedian (Otto) in a movie in the 80ies. There was also a mystery cache. Part of the cache was to make a photo in front of the lighthouse with something typical for Otto or a pic of the Ottifanten. This is our result. The cache was 700 m far from it and we had to walk through a lot of sheeps. ;)

After this little geocaching tour we drove back home. It was such a lovely weekend. :)

Geocaching in 2014

One cache in a public book shelf
Volker signing in a tree
Oh my, it is ages ago, that I last wrote a blog entry. Due to some health problems in the family I wasn't able or in the mood to be a lot creative lately. But I was able to do some little geocaching tours in the last months. My goal for the year 2014 was to reach my cache #1000 and I'm not very far from it now. Only 5 and I have reached #800 and then only 200 to go. ;)

This one we didn't find so fast
the TB hotel
Well, we tried to make some different kind of geocaching tours. There was one with 4 Multis in a row which was really nice. :)

But the best so far this year was a geocaching round in Obernkirchen. All caches were made with so much love. It was always a surprise how the next cache will look like. The best was one where you had to use nails to get the cache. And I also loved one with a bee in the tree. There was also a little multi where you need a battery to solve it. :)

And another nice one was a TB hotel which looked like a hotel. :)

Lena and me on the muddy path
And yesterday I made a geocaching tour close to Afferde with a neighbor. We found a lot of caches during that round. The way was very muddy and sometims I thought we were only going up. At least it was a very nice tour in the forest with some beautiful views over the Weserbergland. :)
But the best cache was also a TB hotel which wasn't part of the round.

Sadly my foot doesn't work very well lately as I have problems with it since I took antibiotics. I hope that this problem will get better in the next few weeks and that I will be able to find a lot more caches in the next months. Our plan is already to make a tour around the "Steinhuder Meer" with 90 different mysteries. ;)

Geocaching in advent time

Castles of Nienstädt (Mystery)

The dinosaur
It's been a while since I last posted here. I had not much time to update the blog as we've been away most of the time. At the weekends we've been at our parents and in the free time there we've been geocaching. It was a lot of fun. We've found some really nice interesting caches: under the ground, in wood, masked in a dinosaur, .. And the most interesting ones were hidden in fountains. It were easy made caches, but hard to get. In the first one (which was 2 m deep) we took a branch to get it, but for the second we need something other. So Volker too the tow rope and made a special knot and finally we had it. :) And the most scariest thing happening: there were some wild pigs in the forest. My first thought "where is the next tree I can climb on". Did you ever meet wild pigs in the forest? What was your most dangerous animal?

In this tree is a cache and as a child we built houses in it

And here you can see our advent wreath. :) And the adventcalender of Volker. Only 2 weeks left. :D

Busy bees in November

The last days we were very busy when it comes to decoration or making cookies. So I haven't found any time to make an atc (sad, but true). I already miss it. But the result of our christmas cookies will help with it. Lots of sweet nice cookies like cinnamon snakes, kind of Lebkuchen cookies, snow caps with chocolate, ... This year we've mostly tried new cookies (I found a nice receipe book in the grocery store for only 2,20 € for 150 receipes).

And of course I started to decorate our flat. As we have a new shelf, I needed some decorations to put in, so I went to Depot. They really have great stuff. Volker was there, too, and he wondered why I hadn't the basket full after 20 min. I could have bought everything, but I had to stop myself, so I only bought two nice candle glasses and some nice stuff for our candle holder. :) I cannot wait to put all our lights on after this next weekend. :)

Day 2
And of course I also made some crafting things, but those are not very special I bought myself a new book "One zentangle a day". Sure, I cannot make it everyday, but I want to make pictures of my "daily" zentangle and want to show it here. May one or two of you would like to start with this great hobby, too. :) Or maybe I already infected someone with zentangles?  For those zentangles I'll
only took a notebook to draw in. It should become my workbook.

Day 1
I also made two holders, one for my zentangles and one for atcs. Now I can take those everywhere. Well, the ATC holder should be a bit bigger, so that more ATCs can fit in, but I only had a 1 cm smaller piece of paper, so it'll be used a bit different.

And lately I ordered some nice stuff like ink pads from Tim Holtz, rubberstamps and stationary. Look what I got today. :D Bought at stampingfairies.de (right one) and stationaryheaven.nl (left one).

New look of our menu

This morning I tried to make one of my projects which I found on Pinterest. As we always have a food list for the whole week and I normally write it on a normal white paper every week, I decided to make this list from Pinterest. And this is the result. Well, normally the ingredients should be written on the back, but that would have taken too long to write down. But I like how it is looking. What do you think. Well, maybe I should have chosen another colour for the days background, a uni colour..

ATCs in November part 3

Today I made more ATCs. This time I mostly drawed them. The one with the moustache was from a magazine and I overdrawed it as well as the sheep. I'm happy with the result of the woman with the moustache. What do you think? And which one do you like most?
